The new Redmi Note 11 series was unveiled earlier this week and is already on a limited sale (early bird deal, $20-$30 off). do you get one? Will you get one once the phone is widely available? Which one? Here’s what we wanted to know this week.

One thing that has changed since the 10-series is pricing. The Redmi Note 10 Pro (Max) starts at $280 (6/64GB), rising to $330 (8/128GB) for the higher-spec model. The 4G version of the 11 Pro starts at $300 (6/64GB) and goes up to $350 (8/128GB). If you want the 5G version, add $30 on top of these prices.

Not ideal considering the Helio G96 chipset in the Redmi Note 11 Pro (4G) is no faster than the Snapdragon 732G it is intended to replace (the GPU is its main weakness). We don’t have benchmarks for the Snapdragon 695 yet, and while we’re happy to test its power efficiency, we’ve noticed a downgrade — the chip doesn’t support 4K recording, while the 732G (and the Note 10 Pro it does) support processing at 30 fps 4K.

Let’s continue with the vanilla series. Its upgrades to the Note 10 model include a higher refresh rate (90 Hz, but still) and new cameras – including the same 108 MP sensor (ISOCELL HM2) as the Pro phone. With 9-in-1 binning, it has a larger effective pixel size for low-light shooting and natively supports up to 3x zoom.

Surprisingly, prices have come down, at least in the case of the Redmi Note 11, starting at $180 for the 4/64GB unit (if you missed the early bird deal) and $230 for the 6/128GB unit. Redmi Note 10 starts at $200 (6/64GB).

As for the Redmi Note 11S, camera upgrades don’t come cheap — starting at $250 (6/64GB) and going up to $300 (8/128GB), that’s $20 more than the Note 10S on all storage options.
