Volkswagen Taijun: booking details
Starting today, all customers can book Volkswagen Taigun SUVs at dealerships or through the company’s website. Earlier this month, Volkswagen announced via Twitter that it had begun pre-orders for this SUV. However, this is only open to customers who have registered for the Volkswagen Taigun Squad program.
Gurpratap Boparai, Managing Director of Skoda Volkswagen India, commented on the news. Co., Ltd., said: “Today, with the start of Taigun production, we embarked on a journey that marked an important milestone for Volkswagen. Taigun is a thoroughbred Volkswagen that retains the German engineering and technical strength, while achieving a high 95% localization level. Taigun aims to meet the needs of discerning Indian customers and will become a competitive product in the fast-growing mid-size SUV segment.”
Volkswagen Taigun: engine and gearbox options
The Volkswagen Taigun’s power system options are the same as those of Skoda Kushaq, which means it will be equipped with two turbo-gasoline engine options-a 115-horsepower 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine and a 150-horsepower 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine unit. Both engines will be equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard, 1.0 TSI has a 6-speed torque converter automatic option, and 1.5 TSI has a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
Volkswagen Taijun: competitors and expected prices
Volkswagen Taigun will use other mid-size SUVs such as Hyundai Creta, Kia Selfos, Nissan Kicks And its own Skoda cousin, Kusak. Taigun must also compete with the larger Tata Harrier and MG Hector in this market segment. The price of Taigun is expected to be between 1050-1.7 million rupees (ex-showroom), similar to Skoda Kushaq.
