Volkswagen Polo GTI facelift announced

The 2021 Volkswagen Polo GTI has been unveiled, and its technology and styling are influenced by larger golf. However, it retains its 204-horsepower turbocharged gasoline engine. The updated Polo GTI is inspired by the eighth-generation golf and extends to the new front end, with the brand’s new light bar logo and an improved rear.

Like the previous GTI, the front-wheel drive Polo will be powered by Volkswagen’s 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission; so far, there is no long-rumored manual transmission option for Ford Fiesta ST competitors. News. Its 0-100kph figure is touted as 6.5 seconds.

The new Polo GTI has received a renewed design, with “IQ Light” LED matrix headlights as standard, with full-width front light bars. According to the company, the light bar “establishes a style connection for Volkswagen’s battery-electric ID models and the new generation of successful models such as Golf, Arteon and Tiguan.”

The new bumper design gives the rear end a new look, while the standard 17-inch alloy wheels use a new design based on the wheels used in golf. Polo GTI also received dynamic turn signals for the first time.

The company’s Discover Pro and Discover Media systems are optional, and the car is also equipped with Volkswagen’s new “digital cockpit” dashboard setup for golf and ID 3. Other options include panoramic sunroof, voice control, wireless charging, Beats sound system, and 18-inch alloy wheels.

It is equipped with three driving modes-Eco, Normal and Sport-and the last one provides enhanced exhaust sound. Polo GTI has obtained a performance-oriented customized chassis tuning. Compared with the standard Polo, the body is reduced by 15 mm, and a large stabilizer is added to the front axle of the car, and a rigid connecting rod is added to the front. A harder shaft positioning bracket is added to the rear.

Polo also benefits from Volkswagen’s travel assistance system for the first time, including adaptive cruise control, lane assist, side assist and rear traffic alert. Automatic emergency braking is also standard, as are driver warning systems and automatic post-collision braking.

The 2021 Polo GTI is based on the sixth-generation Polo and has not yet been marketed in India. Volkswagen sold the previous generation Polo GTI in a limited amount in India in the form of fully imported products. There is no news that the new Polo GTI will arrive on our shores soon.

Volkswagen launched two new SUVs in India this year, first the Taigun, and then the updated 5-seater Tiguan.
