vivo Y21T is expected to be released on January 3, equipped with the Snapdragon 680 chipset. We suspect that it is not a brand new phone, and we are right-it is indeed a vivo Y33s with a Qualcomm chipset and some other minor changes. The full feature list of Y21T appeared on the Internet, showing that the company changed its selfie camera and SoC, and changed its name to a new one.
vivo Y21T will be equipped with a 6.58-inch full HD + resolution LCD. Unlike the 16 MP sensor in the vivo Y33s, the 8 MP selfie camera has a water drop. The three cameras on the back are the same, think-50 MP f/1.8 main + 2 MP f/2.4 bokeh + 2 MP f/2.4 macro.
The Snapdragon 680 chipset is equipped with 128 GB storage space (expandable through a dedicated Micro SD slot) and 4 GB RAM. Vivo will provide the opportunity to expand the memory to 1 GB, although we still don’t believe it really works and whether it should be advertised.
Y21T will be equipped with FunTouch OS 12, which sounds like it is based on Android 12, but it is Android 11. The phone will also be equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery that can be charged at 18W through the USB-C port on the bottom.
According to sources, this phone is priced at 16,490 Indian rupees, which is an attempt by vivo to grab some market share from the popular Realme 8 and the recently launched Redmi Note 11T. We will pay close attention to the event on Monday and return to the actual announcement after the phone is released.
