Vivo wasted no time when it came to new model releases. Just a few days ago, the company announced the Y33T as a replacement for the Y33s, and a device that is essentially the same as the Y21T, but a little earlier. All these phones are basically spitting out images of each other. Now we have another very similar device to add to the list – the vivo Y21e.
Its 164.26 x 76.08 x 8.00mm, 182g all-plastic body looks very familiar, from the camera island to the special shape of the power button/fingerprint reader on the side of the device and the teardrop selfie notch. It can be purchased in midnight blue or diamond glow colors.
In terms of specs, the Y21e borrows most of the things from its close cousin, including the Snapdragon 680 chipset. It’s paired with 3GB of RAM (plus 500MB of expansion RAM) and 64GB of expandable storage. Its LCD display is slightly smaller at 6.51 inches and has an HD+ resolution, which is a notable difference compared to its siblings.
Alive Y21e
For the cameras, you get a 13MP, f/2.2 main camera and an additional 2MP, f/2.4 secondary snapper. Front – An 8MP, f/1.8 selfie. The Y21e comes with a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 18W charging via the Type-C port. Other specs include a 3.5mm audio jack, FM radio, OTG support and dual standby dual nano SIM. You obviously also get an actual accelerometer, light sensor, proximity sensor and compass, just a virtual gyroscope. The Y21e boots vivo’s latest Funtouch OS 12, but we can’t tell if it’s on top of Android 12 or Android 11.
The Y21e is priced at 12,990 rupees ($175) in the Indian market.
