On the occasion of World Conservation Day, Toyota announced the extension of its battery warranty for hybrid vehicles in India. Currently, Toyota India retails two hybrid electric vehicles-Camry Hybrid and Vellfire.

Toyota battery warranty extension: what do you need to know?
So far, Toyota has provided Camry Hybrid and Vellfire with a standard battery warranty of three years or 1,00,000 kilometers. However, from August 1st, the warranty period of the two models will be extended to eight years or 1,60,000 kilometers (whichever comes first).
Existing owners of Camry Hybrids and Vellfires that have been purchased in January 2019 or later will also receive an extended warranty at a special price. For information about the new extended warranty, customers can contact their nearest Toyota dealer. Alternatively, buyers can also refer to the Toyota Warranty and Maintenance Manual (effective August 1, 2021) provided after purchasing the new car.
Speaking of this initiative, Mr. V. Wiseline Sigamani, Deputy General Manager of Sales and Strategic Marketing (AGM) of Toyota Kirorska Automotive, said: “With customers as the top priority, Toyota has been constantly striving to provide diversified service solutions. The long battery warranty period is the most comprehensive coverage on the market today. We continue to bring a lot of smiles and peace of mind to customers who purchase hybrid vehicles, and strengthen the momentum of vehicle electrification in the country.”
Toyota Camry Hybrid
The Camry is Toyota’s flagship sedan in India, comparable to models such as the Skoda Superb. The Camry Hybrid is available in a single, fully loaded variant, priced at Rs 4.059 lakh (in front of the Indian showroom). This car is powered by a 178-horsepower, 2.5-liter gasoline engine and a 120-horsepower electric motor, with a maximum output of 218 horsepower.
Toyota Vellfire: more details
Vellfire is a luxury MPV, currently priced at 8.99 million rupees (ex-showroom, Delhi), shipped to India via the CBU route. The Toyota Vellfire is powered by a 117-horsepower, 2.5-liter gasoline engine combined with two electric motors (143 horsepower at the front and 68 horsepower at the rear) mounted on each axle. The device has 16.35kpl fuel efficiency data rated by ARAI.
Toyota in India
In addition to the Camry Hybrid and Vellfire, Toyota India also sells Glanza hatchback, Urban Cruiser compact SUV, Yaris sedan, Innova Crysta MPV and Fortuner SUV. Looking ahead, it is understood that Toyota is preparing to launch two new mass market products in India-a mid-size sedan and an MPV.The mid-size sedan will be based on Maruti Ciaz and is expected to Relabeled as Toyota Bell Tower, And MPV will be based on the popular Ertiga. Toyota is also expected to launch its pickup truck, Hilux, In India in the next few months.
