Audi e-tron: body style, variants and options

Audi will launch the e-tron series in India with two body style options, namely the standard e-tron SUV and e-tron Sportback. The standard SUV will be equipped with e-tron 50 and e-tron 55 variants, while the Sportback will be equipped with only one variant, the e-tron Sportback 55.

In terms of standard equipment, all variants are equipped with Matrix LED headlights, progressive steering, adaptive air suspension and 4-zone climate control.

In addition, panoramic sunroof, monochrome ambient lighting, Audi’s “virtual cockpit” digital dial, wireless charger, artificial leather interior, electric front seats with memory function, 20-inch alloy, aluminum roof rails, 8 Features such as airbags and front and rear parking sensors are also available.

The standard e-tron has 8 color options-Catalan Red, Small Flower Silver, Galaxy Blue, Glacier White, Mythical Black, Navarra Blue, Siamese Beige and Typhoon Grey. At the same time, e-tron Sportback has all the above 8 color options and an additional plasma blue option. Audi also offers three interior options for e-tron-mother-of-pearl beige, okapi brown and black.

Audi e-tron: optional equipment

The Audi e-tron will also provide a large number of optional equipment, although it is limited to the higher 55 variant. The most prominent option is the technology package, which includes digital matrix LED headlights with follow me home animation projection, 30-color ambient and contour lighting package, air quality package, 705 watts, 16-speaker Bang and Olufsen Premium 3D sound system and 360 degree camera.

Other options include soft closing doors, head-up display, Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus, adaptive windshield wipers, wood ash grain volcanic ash interior, natural walnut interior, black styling kit with black roof rails and a Plane-bottom steering wheel.

Audi e-tron: powertrain details

Both versions of e-tron use two motors, one on the front axle and one on the rear axle. The entry-level e-tron 50 outputs 313hp and 540Nm of torque, which is enough to complete a 0-100kph sprint in a claimed 6.8 seconds. 50 gets power from 71kW battery and has a cruising range of 264-379 kilometers (WLTP combination).

The higher specifications e-tron 55 and e-tron Sportback 55 produce 408hp and 664Nm of torque, and complete 0-100kph in a claimed 5.7 seconds. Both variants are powered by a larger 95kW battery and have a range of 359-484 kilometers (WLTP combination). Power is delivered to all four wheels via the e-quattro permanent all-wheel drive system. All e-trons will be equipped with an 11kW AC home charger, and can perform DC fast charging up to 150 kW.

Audi e-tron: competitors and expected prices

Once launched, Audi e-tron and e-tron Sportback will be Mercedes-Benz EQC with Jaguar I-Pace in India. Considering that Audi SUVs will be CBU models, they will be very expensive. Audi expects the price of the e-tron to exceed Rs 1 crore (in the former showroom in India), while the price of the Sportback version is still slightly higher.
