Skoda India It has been confirmed that its next new model for India will be unveiled later this year. This new global model will be the first sedan that will be unveiled and sold in India. The company also launched a competition for budding Indian designers.

Disguise and Skoda: What is it?
Before the world premiere New Skoda, The European brand announced a competition, inviting budding Indian designers to participate and design camouflage for this upcoming sedan. Entries will be open until August 18, 2021, and the top five finalists of the jury will be announced on August 23, 2021. The final winner will be announced from the top five finalists.
The judges of this competition include Gurpratap Boparai, Managing Director – SAVWIPL; Zac Hollis, Brand Director of Skoda Auto India; and Oliver Stefani, Director of Design Skoda Auto. The winning design will be applied to the upcoming Skoda sedan and will be displayed nationwide. The runner-up will receive a design tablet, and the next three finalists will receive a Skoda gift bag.

The new Skoda Slavia sedan will be powered by two TSI turbo gasoline engines. The first is a 115-horsepower, 1.0-liter, three-cylinder TSI gasoline engine (from the EA211 series), which will drive the front wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic torque converter. A larger engine option will be a 1.5-liter four-cylinder TSI engine that can output 150 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque; this is likely to lead Skoda’s sedan-class performance. 1.5 TSI will be equipped with a quick-shift dual-clutch automatic transmission.
In terms of competitors, 2022 Rapid will compete with Upcoming Volkswagen Virtus, Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Toyota Yaris.
