The leaker Roland Quandt revealed that Samsung will restore the 45W charging standard for its smartphones starting from the Galaxy S22 Ultra. He shared a picture of the new PD charger model EP-T4510, which will obviously be sold separately.
According to the leaked pictures, the travel charger will come with a USB-C to USB-C cable in the retail package.
If the leaker is correct, it will mean that we will again see Galaxy smartphones with 45W charging capabilities. The last one is the Galaxy S20 Ultra launched in February 2020. At that time, the throttle speed of the 45W charger was very fast, and compared with the 25W charger, there was almost no difference in the charging speed.
The current 45W adapter looks very similar and also comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable. Compared with the current EP-TA845XBNG, the main external difference is the smaller size of the upcoming EP-T4510. The included cable is 1.8 meters long, which is longer than the current 1-meter cable.
The current retail price of the 45W adapter is $50, so we expect the price of its replacement to be similar.
