Non-Pro iPhone 14 models will miss out on ProMotion displays -Techweu

We heard last week that Apple would bring 120Hz ProMotion displays to its entire iPhone 14 lineup, but a new report from Ross Young claims that Apple will retain the high refresh rate display technology unique to its Pro iPhones. Young noted that BOE Display, which is expected to be one of the display suppliers for this year’s new iPhones, doesn’t have enough LTPO display capability, and Apple will wait at least another year to implement ProMotion on vanilla iPhone models.

The new report also details the so-called iPhone 14 Pro display panel, with images showing an adjacent punch-hole and pill-shaped cutout on the display, rather than a notch.

This will be the first time any manufacturer has decided to go with both display cutout styles, so it will be interesting to see if this design holds up. According to the report, this design will only be used on the 14Pro and Pro Max phones.
