Kia will launch the next-generation Sportage SUV in the next few months. The company released the first set of preview images to preview its design.

Confirming what the previously discovered prototype implies, Sportage will adopt a new design, and the latest images indicate that the brand’s new EV6 electric flagship will have some influence on the styling. It will be the next model to adopt Kia’s “Opposites United” design cues and is described as a “confident and cutting-edge presence”.
Most notably, Kia Sportage will have market-specific variants for the first time in its 28-year history, including variants for European customers. Although at this early stage, it is not clear what the main differences from other market versions are. The design sketch shows that Sportage will have Kia’s new logo at each end, a full-width black front grille and slender LED lights at the front and rear.
Internally, Sportage will abandon its current two-screen setup in favor of a large curved digital display that covers most of the dashboard, but more details have not been revealed.
Karim Habib, head of design at Kia, said: “Drawing inspiration from the spirit of combining nature and modernity we have created, the new Sportage challenges design norms, with an adventurous and modern appearance with exquisite details and groundbreaking interiors. With the new Lion Race, we don’t just want to take a step forward, but we want to reach a completely different level in the SUV class.”
Kia has not yet confirmed which power systems it will introduce to Sportage, but has promised to provide more details in the coming weeks.
