Motorola is reportedly working on a new flagship with a 200MP camera, Snapdragon Gen 8 and 144W charging -Techweu

A new leak details the mysterious upcoming Motorola flagship, which is said to be codenamed “Frontier.” It’s hot on the heels of the recently released Edge X30, which seems to share some of its specs while sounding more impressive in some ways.

Starting with the basics, the leaks describe a 6.67-inch curved, FHD+, 144Hz OLED display – basically the Edge X30 with the flagship Snapdragon 8 chipset. However, this may not actually be exactly the same as the current Qualcomm top dog, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, but a similar chip made on TSMC’s 4nm process, not Samsung’s. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of such a potential move, allegedly due to production issues on Samsung’s end. The source even cites the SM8475 model number of the new chip, even suggesting it will be called the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. We haven’t seen any official signs of a brand new chip, though. Time will prove everything. Frontier reportedly pairs the chip with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage or 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.

The Motorola Frontier is also said to use Samsung’s 200MP S5KHP1 sensor for the main camera, along with a 50MP Samsung S5KJN1SQ03 (JN1) ultra-wide snapper and 12MP IMX663 telephoto. Pretty impressive loadout. On the front, Frontier will likely borrow the 60MP OmniVision OV60A sensor found in the Edge X30 – another similarity.

Finally, charging speeds could be upgraded, as the Frontier is said to charge up to 125W via its Type-C port and 50W wirelessly.
