Maruti Suzuki More than 180,000 vehicles have been recalled, including gasoline versions of Ertiga, Ciaz, Vitara Brezza, XL6 and S-Cross, due to suspected failure of the electric generator set.
- Recall 1,81,754 Ertiga, XL6, Ciaz, Vitara Brezza and S-Cross
- Car owners are advised not to drive in areas with stagnant water
- Affected vehicles will be repaired from the first week of November 2021
Maruti Suzuki recalls more than 180,000 cars
The 1,81,754 vehicles recalled were manufactured between May 4, 2018 and October 27, 2020. Affected units include Maruti Arena models- Ertiga with Vitala Breza – And Maruti Nexa model – XL6, S-cross with Chaz.
The motor generator set of the affected vehicle will be inspected, and if any fault is found, it will be replaced for the customer free of charge. Maruti Suzuki authorized repair shop will contact and notify the owner of the affected vehicle. The maintenance will start in the first week of November 2021 and will be carried out in phases.
Prior to this, Maruti Suzuki had advised its customers to avoid driving in areas with stagnant water and spray water directly on the electrical/electronic components of the vehicle.
To check whether the vehicle is affected, customers can also visit the “Imp Customer Info” section on the Maruti Suzuki website (for Vitara Brezza and Ertiga) or the Nexa website (for XL6, S-Cross and Ciaz). People only need to fill in their vehicle chassis number details to check whether their vehicle needs any attention.

Speaking of releases, Maruti’s biggest upcoming release is The new Celerio hatchback This will be put on the market at the end of this year.Next will be a comprehensive Baleno’s facelift Early 2022.In addition to these two, Maruti Suzuki also plans to update Ertiga, XL6 and Vitara Brezza.
