We broke the news in the December 2019 issue that Mercedes-Maybach GLS is considering entering IndiaNow, the company has confirmed that the flagship luxury SUV will be launched in India on June 8, 2021, and the model is expected to arrive as a CBU imported product.

Mercedes-Maybach GLS: the difference between it and ordinary GLS
Starting from the design, the details determine the role of this SUV Maybach GLSThe nose is chrome-plated with Maybach-specific vertical shutter grilles, chrome-plated details on the lower bumper, larger alloy wheels, Maybach logo on the D-pillar, and chrome splashes on the sides and rear.
Internally, the cabin is consistent with GLS. The dashboard is mainly a dual 12.3-inch screen for infotainment and instrumentation, with Maybach-specific graphics added to the screen. The cabin has also been upgraded, such as Napa leather interior and unique decorative elements. In addition, the Maybach GLS has only two rows of seats. Compared with the standard GLS middle row seats, the rear seats are positioned 120 mm backwards.
It is expected that the Maybach GLS will be equipped with a long list of standard kits and a series of options to choose from, such as a four-seater cab with independent electric, reclining and massage rear seats, a refrigerator, a two-tone exterior paint scheme, etc.
Mercedes-Maybach GLS: Engine options
Maybach GLS currently offers a single gasoline engine option globally-4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 mild hybrid gasoline-which will also be the only engine option available in India. The device sends 558hp and 730Nm of torque to all four wheels through a 9-speed automatic transmission and 4Matic all-wheel drive. The 48V hybrid system, or EQ Boost as Mercedes calls it, can provide an additional 22hp and 250Nm of torque on demand.
Mercedes-Maybach GLS: Competitor
It is expected that the cost of the Maybach GLS will be much higher than the standard GLS already sold in India.Competitors of this flagship luxury SUV will include the following models Bentley Bentayga with Range Rover.
