Benz At the ongoing Munich Auto Show, the firepower was fully deployed, demonstrating the next stage of its transition to full electrification, and introducing a large number of new concepts and unveiling. One of the most important models is the new Mercedes EQE electric sedan, which is a succession of larger and more EQS for luxury goods. Mercedes EQE will compete with electric vehicles such as Tesla Model 3, BMW i4 and Polestar 2.

Just as EQS is an electrical equivalent Mercedes-Benz S-Class, EQE is an electricity equivalent to Class E.

  • EQE will use 100% recycled steel to build the first Mercedes

  • 288hp EQE 350 rear-wheel drive; estimated cruising range 545-660km

Mercedes EQE: exterior design

EQE’s black front panel, “single-bow” cab forward profile (the brand’s new era customized EV family logo) and the front and rear short overhangs can clearly see the relationship with the EQS flagship. Mercedes also mentioned the “sensory purity” achieved by minimizing joints, transitions and body lines, and hinted that EQE exhibits its “sports characteristics” through the obvious rear hips and 19-21-inch wheels.

Like EQS, the design of EQE also takes into account the best aerodynamic efficiency. Mercedes claims that its smooth underbody, strict panel gap sealing and closed grille make the Cd appearance “very good.” Due to its short front suspension and standard multi-link front and rear steel suspension, it cannot fully match the EQS, but the air optimization measures are “particularly concentrated development.” Mercedes even offers specially developed 19-inch and 20-inch “aviation wheels”, including a package with an almost completely enclosed surface.

EQE-the first Mercedes model made of 100% recycled steel-is 270 mm shorter and 4,946 mm longer than EQS, with a wheelbase of 80 mm longer and 3,120 mm longer than the E-Class. Mercedes pointed out that it is more comparable in size to the CLS four-door coupe, and, like that car, the EQE has a hatch-style trunk lid instead of a sedan-style trunk lid.

Mercedes EQE: Interior Design

Its internal design is similar to EQS, and is equipped with a larger 1,410 mm wide option, which further differentiates it from the traditional fuel E-class sedan.Super screen infotainment equipment. Spanning the width of the dashboard, this high-definition screen is described as providing “zero-level” access to key functions of the MBUX operating system, so users do not need to cycle through multiple menus. The front passenger can control their 12.3-inch OLED display, which in Europe will automatically dim when displaying “dynamic content” to avoid distracting the driver.

Air system updates and upgrades will be provided at the time of release, providing enhanced features, such as “Roar Pulse” sound mode (providing “large capacity internal combustion engine” soundtrack option), driving mode specially developed for young people, drivers and technicians, and built-in video games And upgraded headlight technology.

The flat-bottom EQE also has no transmission channels, but uses a floating center console, which reflects the control of the seats and doors through similar devices on the door panels.

Mercedes claims that the EQE is “one of the best cars in its class” in terms of noise reduction. The foam coating fills the various cavities and insulates the electric motor to reduce wind and driveline noise, as does the custom upgrade sealing of door handles, mirrors and windows. There is also a subtle decorative element at the bottom of the A-pillar to reduce noise, improve airflow and help keep the side windows clean.

Mercedes EQE: Powertrain

After the launch, there will be two variants: EQE 350, whose rear motor can provide 288 horsepower and 530 Nm, as well as an undisclosed second transmission system option. Performance details are still confidential, but Mercedes said that the permanent magnets of the motor can ensure “high power density, high efficiency and high power stability.”

The four-wheel drive 4Matic model will be launched later and may match the 751hp of the most powerful EQS variant under the guise of the top AMG EQE 53. Dynamic upgrades applicable to all models include an air suspension derived from the S-Class and an optional rear axle steering system that can reduce the turning radius by up to 1.8m.

Currently, EQE is equipped with a 10-cell 90kWh (available) lithium-ion battery, which can provide an expected range of 545-660 kilometers in the WLTP cycle, which makes it longer than most competitors’ legs, at least in the more efficient rear- Drive form. It can be charged at a speed of up to 170 kW, which means that EQE can gain a cruising range of about 250 kilometers in just 15 minutes, and it is charged through regenerative braking during driving, allowing single-pedal at the highest setting Drive.
