Although electric vehicles are far from becoming mainstream in India anytime soon, in this case, compressed natural gas has become a very viable fuel option, especially in urban areas.So far, the CNG automotive field is mainly composed of Maruti Suzuki and modern, Although more and more automakers are now seeking to explore this field. Therefore, we have compiled a list of all CNG cars that will be installed in factories in India that will be launched in the next few months.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire CNG
Since the introduction of the BS6 specification, the current Maruti Suzuki lineup is gasoline. Although the brand already has one of the most extensive CNG cars in its product line, the car manufacturer is looking to further expand its product line.This Zile CNG will continue to use the same 1.2-liter four-cylinder engine as the standard model, although the power and torque output is expected to drop from the current 90 horsepower and 113 Nm of torque. The ARAI of Maruti Dzire gasoline claims that its manual gearbox has a fuel efficiency of 23.26kmpl, while the AMT gearbox has a fuel efficiency of 24.12kmpl, making it one of the most fuel-efficient cars.
Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG
After Dzire, even Maruti Suzuki Swift It is possible to get a CNG variant. The Swift is one of the highest-selling hatchbacks in the country, even though it is currently a pure gasoline model. Maruti will seek to take advantage of this popularity by expanding the range with new CNG variants, especially considering the recent price increase. Under the hood, Swift is identical to Dzire and will be equipped with the same engine suitable for CNG. Swift currently has a manual gearbox mileage of 23.2kmpl claimed by ARAI and an automatic gearbox of 23.76kmpl. However, it remains to be seen in which trim and specifications Maruti Suzuki offers CNG variants of Swift.
Tata Tiago CNG
Following the success of Maruti and Hyundai, Tata Motors has been very keen to explore the field of compressed natural gas. Tata Motors’ upcoming first model with CNG processing is their entry-level product—— TiagoThe CNG variant of Tiago has been spotted in tests several times before and is expected to be launched in the next few months. Tata Tiago is currently equipped with the only 1.2-liter three-cylinder Revotron gasoline engine that can produce 86 horsepower and 113 Nm of torque, making it a pure gasoline product. With the addition of CNG variants, Tiago will have a wider appeal in the market. Tata Motors is likely to only offer Tiago CNG with manual transmission options.
Tata Tiger CNG
At the bottom is another Tata, which is a derivative of Tiago’s compact car—— TigorThe Tata Tigor is powered by the same 1.2-liter Revotron gasoline engine, and like the Tiago, it is also a pure gasoline model. By adding factory-installed CNG kits, Tata Motors can also provide Tigor CNG as a commercial product. The company also sells Tigor EV, which is now renamed X-Press T for fleet buyers. Tigor CNG may also be the same as Tiago CNG in terms of engine output. With Tigor CNG, buyers in the compact car space will have a range of products to choose from, including CNG versions of Dzire and Amaze.
