- Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 1:1 scale model with more than 8,660 hours of construction time
- Made from 400,000 Lego technical parts
Lego said: “This compelling cooperation with Automobili Lamborghini proves once again that with Technic, you can build anything real you can imagine.”
The 1:1 replica Sián consists of 4,00,000 Lego mechanical components (including some custom-molded for replicas) the same size as the real model, 4,980 mm in length, 2,101 mm in width, and 1,133 mm in height. It weighs 2,200 kg, and a team of 15 people took a total of 8,660 hours to complete. It follows the commercial 1:18 scale Sián model launched by Lego last year.
“Our designers like challenges, so you can imagine their joy when we ask them to think a little bit bigger than usual with this model,” said Lena Dixen, LEGO’s vice president of product and marketing.
“They seized the opportunity to work with our excellent designers and engineers in our model making workshop in the Kladno factory in the Czech Republic. They made these impressive life-size models and really broke the boundaries of what can be done with Lego technology,” Dixon said.
The model is even equipped with electronic components imitating Sián’s headlights and hexagonal taillights, and a brick steering wheel with dashboard controls and racing seats can be found in the cockpit. It is also the first large-scale model with a Lego brush effect UV color coating.
In 2018, Lego launched a full-size version of the Bugatti Chiron made of more than 1,000,000 parts, and in 2019 launched the 1,700 kg version of McLaren Senna.
