The new Hyundai Stargazer (code name: KS) MPV is likely to be one of the first models launched by the brand in its new plant in Indonesia and is expected to be ready by the end of this year. With the new KS MPV, Hyundai seems to intend to take a share of the huge MPV market in Indonesia, which includes models such as Suzuki Ertiga, Honda BR-V, Mitsubishi Xpander and Nissan Livinia. The Indonesian MPV market is regarded as an important market by other brands, including Toyota, which always launches a new generation of Innova and Suzuki, which is the first to release the current generation of Ertiga in the Indonesian domestic market.

The new Hyundai KS MPV will be Creta And the length may be the same as AlcazarThanks to its MPV-style cab forward-leaning body style, it can be expected that there will be enough space to accommodate three rows of vehicles. A pre-production test mule with extensive coverage of this new MPV was recently discovered in South Korea. Although it did not reveal many details, it can be confirmed that the model will draw on the styling cues of Hyundai’s new models, such as the recently released Tucson for overseas sales and the Bayon crossover that was launched in Europe a few months ago.

New Hyundai KS MPV: Expected engine and gearbox options

The new Hyundai KS MPV will first be equipped with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine. The powerplant will also make it competitive with most competitors with similar capacity engines and will be shared with Creta. If this model enters India, there will also be a 1.5-liter diesel engine. This MPV can be equipped with automatic and manual gearboxes similar to Creta and Alcazar.

New Hyundai KS MPV: Will it come to India?

Hyundai’s sister brand Kia has confirmed that Kia’s KY MPV will arrive in the showroom early next year. The addition of modern derivatives in India will help the two brands achieve greater economies of scale, similar to models such as the Seltos and Creta or Sonet and Venue, which share multiple components under the skin. Hyundai has not confirmed its derivative products of this MPV, but we believe that bringing this model to India in the future is the logical next step.
