Honda Surprise Facelift: What’s new out there?
The most significant update of the Honda Amaze facelift is focused on the appearance. Amaze will get a new front grille that is more stylish than before, and two horizontal chrome bars will be added to the bottom. The fog lamp housing on the bumper has also been modified and even received a new chrome finish.
The most important external update is reserved for the top-spec VX trim, which now gets an automatic LED projector headlight with integrated LED DRL and LED front fog lights. It is also equipped with new chrome-plated door handles and 15-inch diamond-cut two-tone alloy wheels.
At the rear, the Amaze facelift will be equipped with new C-shaped LED taillights, as well as new chrome trim and reflectors on the rear bumper.
Honda Surprise Facelift: What’s new inside?
Inside, although the design and layout will be consistent with the model before the facelift, Honda has adopted new silver decorations on the dashboard and steering wheel. It also contrasts sharply with the black and beige interior theme. Another major addition is the new leather surround of the gear lever of the manual variant.
Other updates to the Honda Amaze’s facelifted interior include the addition of front map lights, new chrome finishes for air conditioning vent knobs, dust and pollen filters, and new linings on the trunk lid. The top-level VX trim also specifically uses a new beige seat fabric with stitching.
Honda surprise facelift: engine and gearbox
There will be no changes under the hood, which means that the Amaze facelift will continue to use the same engine and gearbox options as its predecessor. This includes a 90-horsepower, 110-Nm, 1.2-liter i-VTEC gasoline engine that can be used with a 5-speed manual or CVT automatic transmission. At the same time, the diesel engine can produce 100 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque from a 1.5-liter engine when paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, and can produce 80 horsepower and 160 Nm of torque when paired with a CVT automatic transmission. Amaze’s diesel-CVT combination is unique and not available to its competitors.
Honda Surprise Facelift: India’s Competitor
The Honda Amaze facelift will be comparable to other compact cars, such as Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura, Tata Tigor and Ford Aspire.
