- The next generation Maserati GranTurismo will be fully electric
- Traditional GT proportions-long hood, dive roofline and stubby boots
- It is also likely to produce a new generation of Maserati GranCabrio
The previewed prototype of the new GranTurismo EV, although heavily disguised, shows some design aspects. The overall outline or body lines are very similar to the first-generation GT, which has been discontinued. GT-As the name suggests, it is not just a complete sports car, but also has the typical GT proportions-long and sleek hood, coupe-like roof line and short, thick trunk.
In fact, in terms of design, it is very similar to Alfieri Concept It was exhibited about half a year ago. One can also see the typical large Maserati grille, with a trident occupying the center space, large air intakes-which may help cool the battery-and a muscular hood. Despite the camouflage, the new headlights are also obvious, similar to the headlights on the MC20 and a set of large aerodynamic wheels. Like the current model, the rear wheel arches are very obvious, giving a very traditional look.
Maserati did not mention any specifications of the electric power system in terms of the number of motors, battery or motor rated power, 0-100kph acceleration time or range. However, we are almost certain that this new GT may surpass its predecessor. In other words, we can certainly tell you that it won’t sound that good. It is very likely that this next-generation car is expected to produce a convertible GranCabrio version.
