Free Windows 11 update to release on October 5th-Techweu

Microsoft today announced that it will release Windows 11 on October 5th. Updates will be provided free of charge to the target PC.

The update will be rolled out in stages starting October 5th. Microsoft states that new eligible devices will get the update first. Updates are then rolled out over time to off-the-shelf devices based on an intelligence model that takes into account hardware eligibility, reliability metrics, device age, and other factors that affect the upgrade experience. ..

Microsoft says it expects all eligible devices to be updated by mid-2022.

Users running Windows 10 should make sure that updates are available on Windows Update when they are ready. However, as with other Windows Updates, you may be able to manually download and update.

Windows 11 brings many changes, including a redesigned Start menu, updated UI design and sounds, widgets, updated Microsoft Store apps, and game-related features such as automatic HDR and direct storage.

Windows 11 also supports Android applications through partnerships with Amazon and Intel. However, this feature will not be available at the time of release. A preview of this feature will be available on Windows Insider in the coming months.
