Maruti Suzuki September production: details
Maruti Suzuki said in a statement: “Due to semiconductor shortages resulting in limited supply of electronic components, the company expects that Haryana and its contract manufacturing company Suzuki Motors will be adversely affected in September car production. Gujarat Pvt. Ltd. (SMG) is located in Gujarat. Although the situation is very dynamic, it is currently estimated that the total vehicle production at the two locations may be about 40% of the normal production.”
Maruti Suzuki India’s two plants in Gurgaon and Manesar in Haryana have a total capacity of 15,80,000 vehicles, while the Suzuki Motor Gujarat plant has a capacity of 5,000 vehicles. This adds up to slightly more than 2 million units (20,800,000) per year. Together, the monthly output of these three factories is estimated to be slightly higher than 1,73,000 units. This means that the output in September may be reduced by about 1,03,800 units, which marks the beginning of the festival season in India.
This progress confirms what FADA Chairman Vinkesh Gulati told our sister publication OurProfessional last week. He said that due to the widespread semiconductor supply chain problems, there is a serious mismatch between supply and demand. Although demand has picked up, sales during the holiday season will still be affected.
On August 30th, Maruti Suzuki confirmed Prices will increase in September In its entire model range. Due to rising input costs, this latest rate hike will be the third rate hike by the automaker in eight months, and this move may lead other participants to follow suit.
