BMW 5 Series facelift: design
The appearance changes of the 5 Series facelift are concentrated on the front grille, which is wider and lower in position than before. It also uses a new bicycle frame design, the central element is chrome-plated, and is located in the redesigned front bumper. The larger grille blends well with the new headlights, and BMW’s Laserlight technology is used in the higher variant. The headlights use four LED beams, L-shaped daytime running lights and indicator lights on the outer edge. The facelift also received a heavier taillight — similar in design to the latest 3 series — and a redesigned rear bumper. In addition, all 5 series models will be equipped with trapezoidal exhaust pipes, regardless of variants.
BMW 5 Series facelift: interior
Internally, the facelifted 5 Series will get the latest seventh-generation BMW iDrive infotainment system and a standard 10.3-inch central touch screen. In addition, interior trim adjustments are concentrated on the dashboard, which has received a new lower climate display, as well as improved materials and bright black center console details. In addition, entry-level models are expected to get more standard equipment than before.
BMW 5 Series facelift: engine and gearbox
Although official details have not yet been announced, the BMW 5 Series facelift is expected to continue the engine options of the current model. These include 252 horsepower and 2.0 liter gasoline in the 530i; 190 horsepower and 2.0 liter diesel in the 520d; and 530d equipped with a 265 hp 3.0 liter diesel engine. An 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission will become the standard configuration of the series.
BMW 5 Series facelift: expected prices and competitors
Currently, the price of the BMW 5 Series in India is between 56 and 691 lakh rupees (in the former showroom in India). Taking into account the technology and style updates it has obtained, the price of plastic surgery is expected to rise slightly.In terms of competitors, the 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Audi A6, Volvo S90 with Jaguar XF.
