In an investor presentation, Ming-Chi Kuo talked about Apple’s plans to use the same MacBook Pro 14 96W power supply for its AR/VR headsets. That’s because the device will likely feature two CPUs — one based on a 4nm process and one based on a 5nm process.
If the device needs a powerful 96W charging brick, that could mean the computing power will be roughly in line with the MacBook Pro 14. It could also mean that the 96W adapter will charge the headset faster than initially expected.
Analysts predict that the company’s shipments will reach 3 million units in 2023, 8-10 million units in the following year, and 15-20 million units in 2025
He is betting that Apple will be 2-3 years ahead of its competitors in technological advancement in this area and provide an unparalleled experience. The first headphones will be released this year, but in limited quantities.
