The NSX Type S has a redesigned appearance, including an improved front end, a spoiler with larger air intakes and downforce, and a new rear with a larger diffuser to increase high-speed stability. Honda NSX Type S: Powertrain
The total output of the S-type 3.5-liter V6 hybrid is 600 horsepower and 667 Nm. The power is higher than the 573hp/646Nm provided by the standard NSX. This is achieved by installing the new fuel injectors, intercoolers and turbochargers of the NSX GT3 racing car.
NSX engineers also increased the usable capacity of the hybrid battery by 20% and increased its output by 10%. The 9-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission has been retuned for better performance, faster upshifts and more aggressive downshifts.
The transmission is also equipped with a new quick downshift button, which allows the driver to skip several gears by holding down the downshift pedal. In Sport and Sport+ modes, the clutch engagement speed is now increased by 50%.
Honda NSX Model S: Suspension and brakes
Honda said it has redesigned the NSX Type S suspension to provide higher performance and “emotional connection.” NSX Type S uses custom Pirelli P Zero tires and new lightweight alloys, and uses standard Brembo brakes (six pistons at the front, four pistons at the rear).
The new model will also provide a lightweight kit that adds a high-gloss carbon fiber hood, carbon ceramic brakes and internal carbon fiber components, which reduces the car’s weight by 26.2 kg.
The NSX Type S is priced at US$171,495 (approximately Rs 1.27 crore) in the United States, and 300 of the 350 prototypes will be sold in the United States. It is sold in the United States under the Acura badge and is the third model in the series to receive the Type S version.
