2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class price starts at Rs 2.17 crore

New Mercedes-Benz S-Class: exterior styling

The design of the 2021 S-Class is an evolution of the old model, and it has a lot in common with the new model. Class E‘Design. The appearance of the new S-Class sedan uses Mercedes’ new “Digital Light” LED headlights, a new chrome grille with three horizontal blades, a new front bumper with larger air intakes, pop-up door handles and Surrounding LED taillights. Inside, the instrument panel is dominated by Mercedes’ new 12.8-inch vertical touch screen infotainment system, and is equipped with a 12.3-inch digital instrument display. The new OLED touch screen runs the latest Mercedes MBUX system (NTG7) and supports facial, voice and fingerprint recognition functions. Interestingly, the system has 320GB of storage space and 16GB of RAM, which should ensure that it stays alive for the foreseeable future. In addition, part of the package is 64-color active ambient lighting, high-quality Burmester 4D surround sound system and front massage seats.

At the rear, the S-Class sedan is equipped with bench seats with electric adjustable outer seats. Rear passengers can also electronically adjust the legrest and massage functions. There is also a driver’s bag that adds rear passenger seat adjustment, rear seat entertainment touch screen and central flat panel controller for various in-car functions. Another unique safety feature of the new S-Class is the rear and front airbag seat passengers.

In addition, it is worth mentioning that there are two interior color schemes to choose from-Macchiato Beige or Sienna Brown Napa Leather Interior-depending on the body color.

New Mercedes-Benz S-Class: engine and gearbox

Provides two engine options for the brand-new fully imported Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedan-gasoline and diesel. The S 400d is equipped with the familiar OM656 inline 6-cylinder diesel engine, which produces 330 horsepower and a significant 700 Nm of torque. The S 450 gasoline engine is also an in-line 6-cylinder turbocharger, which can produce 367 horsepower and 500 Nm. Mercedes’ 4Matic all-wheel drive system and 9-speed automatic transmission are standard equipment of these two variants.

The new S-Class is also equipped with rear-wheel steering, which should make it more flexible and easier to maneuver than the model it replaces.
